We Do Wood powstała w 2011 roku w Kopenhadze. Koncept został oparty na wizji, iż nowe duńskie wzornictwo i zasady zrównoważonego rozwoju powinny iść w parze.

Projektanci i wykonawcy We Do Wood strają się ciągle poszukiwać lepszej alternatywy, żeby produkować bezpieczne dla otoczenia meble. Jak to się przejawia w praktyce? Do swoich projektów starają się używać klejów bez formaldehydów, stosują farby na bazie wody lub całkowicie unikają farb, stosując inne techniki, jak np. karbonizacja i utlenianie. Powszechnie stosowanym przez nich surowcem jest bambus. Surowce pozyskiwane są wyłącznie od dostawców certyfikowanych przez FSC (Forest Stewardship Council – organizacja non-profit wyznaczająca standardy dla odpowiedzialnej gospodarki leśnej).

We Do Wood was founded in Copenhagen in 2011, based on the vision that new Danish design and strict sustainability principles should go hand in hand.

At We Do Wood, whole team made it their ambition to always seek the better alternative. What does it mean in practise? When they can use formaldehyde-free glue, that’s what they choose to do. When they can choose water-based paint or even avoid paint altogether by implementing other techniques such as carbonisation and oxidation, then they make the extra effort to do that. And when bamboo outperforms any woody material on every sustainability parameter they can think of, there really is no better choice in their minds.

We Do Wood only source materials from FSC certified suppliers (Forest Stewardship Council – a non-profit organization that sets standards to make sure that forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible and socially beneficial manner).
