For Spring Summer seasons RaspberryPlum collection takes it’s inspiration from Dada, the art movement which originated at the beginning of 20th century.
As Dada artists rejected reason and logic, brand’s designers put together random graphic elements to create accidental meaning, such as combining bananas and paint brushes to create a slogan ‘Bananas for Art’ or merging eggs and hearts to create the features of a face. They were also strongly influenced by random use of fonts in dada art and breaking up words and letters into collages. This can be particularly evident in the boys’ collection. They looked at artists such as Theo Van Doesburg, Paul Klee and Ken Wilber, or Jean Cocteau.
The ss19 collection has an element of sportswear. This can be seen in the 70s inspired tracksuits for boys, sports culottes for girls and sports rompers for babies. Perforated leatherette and perforated poplin as well as graphic, custom made jacquard ribbons reinforce this overall theme.
Specialist custom fabrics were developed for the collection; cotton jacquard manufactured in Italy features images of fried eggs, viscose interlock from Portugal for sweat tops, bottoms, skirts and dresses combined with abstract printed cotton poplin developed in Portugal. Digital prints feature surreal dada inspired collages. The print on jersey has a tropical feel featuring tropical leafs, apes and other random objects. Colours were inspired by the art of Jean Arp and Sophie Taeuber-Arp.
This collection is filled with creative inspiration and imagination, yet it is very wearable, practical and comfortable, with great attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Artyści Dada odrzucali rozum i logikę, więc projektanci marki poukładali losowo elementy graficzne, aby wykreować przypadkowe znaczenia, takie jak np. połączenie bananów i pędzli, aby stworzyć hasło „Banany dla sztuki” czy połączenie graficzne jajek i serc w celu stworzenia rysów twarzy. Duży wpływ na projektantów wywarło przypadkowe używanie czcionek w ruchu Dada, a także rozbijanie słów i liter, aby następnie tworzyć z nich kolaże. Jest to szczególnie widoczne w kolekcji chłopięcej, gdzie można dostrzec mocne nawiązanie do takich artystów jak Theo Van Doesburg, Paul Klee i Ken Wilber, czy Jean Cocteau.
Kolekcja jest pełna twórczej inspiracji i wyobraźni, ale jest również bardzo praktyczna i wygodna – stworzona z wielką dbałością o szczegóły i jakość wykonania.
